ADOPTED!!

Great news, Medicine Man was adopted! He was a Christmas present to a man (from his fiance') and what a bond these two are making! There's just something about a horse that brings out all kinds of feelings you may not even have known you had........and they just seem to command that you exercise your patience and make you better at practicing it! (now that's not a bad thing).......Medicine Man and his laid back attitude will make such a great trail horse! Good luck to the new owner! May you ride many, many trails together!

TRAILER LOAD

AUGUST 6, 2009

Been extremely busy around the farm, but did manage to work with Medicine Man and the horse trailer. He didn't seem to mind it, considering he hasn't had any attention in a few weeks.

SUNDAY JULY 12 2009

Refresher course today, yielding hindquarters, leading and practiced ground tying. He did really good with this! Getting better all the time! Soon as my fences are done, he needs to "look out"!! lol

WORKING

Worked with Medicine Man Tuesday nite, we did a little leading and yielding hindquarters. Then practiced tying and learning patience! Both of us need this lesson.......lol

Able to control his head and get closer to him today. I've been busy on other projects and this is the first opportunity all week I've had to get near him.

Got a halter on Medicine Man on Sunday evening. And by Monday he managed to slip it off! So there is sits dangling around his jaw.....at least he will be desensitized! He works real well in the round pen, and he's gets bored easily. Time to step it up a notch with training. Today I plan to put the long lead rope and work with leading him in the round pen. He's very impressive and I am really enjoying work with him.
